Introduction

No other city in the world boasts such a rich and invigorating mixture of sights, smells and visual delights as Bangkok.  Where else in the world does traditional east sit so happily in such stark contrast with modern west?  Ancient temples live side by side with futuristic skyscrapers?  Bangkok is the leading city in South East Asia, and you really need at least 3 to 5 days to be able to scratch the surface on all the delights it has to offer.   Bangkok is definitely the centre for everything in Thailand – spiritually, economically, culturally and politically.  There are many fantastic sights to see and experience – to many to be able to write about here – so instead I have written about just the highlights.
